I keep listening to this over and over. There is something about the lyrics to this song…you can tell someone really put thought into it. The words are about real life, real emotions that humans go through. Yet, I see a certain amount of emptiness and sadness that is stirring my mind. He’s on the pursuit of happiness and says, “I’ll be fine once I get it.” But, with the means by which he is choosing to pursue happiness, will he ever get there?
Then the last line is different from the entire song: “The Pursuit of Happiness, I don’t get it, I’ll be good.”
I want to tell you about this clothing company called Aklesia. Right now they are doing this promotion called “Clothe One Movement”, and if you buy a “clothe one” shirt, they will donate a school uniform to The Sold Project <http://www.thesoldproject.com> which is an awesome organization that helps stop child prostitution by keeping children in Thailand in school. Their model and strategy for stopping child prostitution is amazing and effective. If you want to find out more, go to Aklesia’s blog website at http://www.elevatetoinspire.com/ and read the article on the Sold Project.
Whether you buy a shirt or not is your own prerogative, although I do recommend that you either buy one for yourself or gift one to help the cause (especially with the Holiday’s around the corner). But at the very least, get the word out to all your friends. Here’s how you can help:
#1. Check out the post at http://www.elevatetoinspire.com/, then click on the Clothe One site and VOTE ON A DESIGN. It should take a minute and there are only 2 DAYS LEFT for voting.
#2. Post up the site URL on your Facebook Status and/or Twitter.
#3. Join the Facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=29982477254&ref=ts and follow Aklesia on twitter at www.twitter.com/Aklesia_Inc*
The voting is ABSOLUTELY important because it helps Aklesia pick the BEST design to use for their clothe one promotion. That means that as many children as possible in Thailand can get the school uniforms that they need to stay in school. This is a very tangible way you can help stop child prostitution.
Help stop child prostitution. go to www.elevatetoinspire.com and help vote, then if you feel inclined, buy a t-shirt once the clothe one shirts go live.
what if more people saw following Jesus as an exciting lifestyle filled with hope and love rather than as a burdensome religion filled with rules and obligations?
Wherever you see a cross representative of the one that Jesus Christ of Nazareth died on used as adornment around someone’s neck, on top of a building, on a book, or anywhere else, it is the equivalent of someone using an electric chair, a guillotine, or gas chamber as jewelry or some other type of decoration. Crucifixion was a very popular method of execution used by Romans over 2000 years ago., often considered to be one of the most shameful and humiliating ways to die. It is interesting how the cross, formerly used as a humiliating method of execution, is now a symbol of sacrifice, faith, hope, and love.
In the Hitch ORL Office at 1:30am, Nancy, Naomi, Emily, and I got in a heated debate over the number of syllables in my name. They say 1 and I say 2. Then we googled it, and someone random website said it is 1.5. I decided to take a poll using micropoll.com. Clink on the link below. What are YOUR thoughts?
“The hero is one who kindles a great light in the world, who sets up blazing torches in the dark streets of life for men to see by. The saint is the man who walks through the dark paths of the world, himself a light.”

A few weeks ago, I went a week or so without spending a lot of time in my room because I was so busy. I would come back to my room, crash or study, then wake up the next day, and do it all over again. Over time, my stuff accumulated and I had no time to organize my room. In addition, I just came back from a weekend at home, where I took advantage of not having to pay $1.00 per load of laundry. So I had A LOT of CLEAN laundry in the laundry hamper (see center of room) and strewn on my couch (accompanied by my papers, books, other articles of clothing, etc.). I am usually a fairly organized person, so the clutter was driving me nuts (I had a difficult time finding things). I finally had a night where I could lock myself in my room and tidy it up. Anyway, I thought the picture contrast of before and after I cleaned was cool. So I decided to post it.
